The Dark Street

I have drawn an old street using photoshop, trying to create the street with a balanced contrast for a realistic look. I have used only a small range of colour such as green, blue, brown, white and black using the smudge tool and later developed the texture using the effects on the photoshop to create a grazed appeal to the walls.

After many hours of developing the drawing of the streets and editing it on photoshop to create right amount of contrast to form an old, dark street. I dupicated the first house on the right and developed further by placing the beams in different places of the houses. The first house on the left window needs a little improving as it looks to smudged with the white which need blending in with the black to appear clearer and sharper to symbolise glass.
After all of that I decided to develope the street further and create a sky which wouldn't appear to be less difficult than the street it was the complete opposite trying to blend the sky with the houses wasn't the easiest of things to do on photoshop as the sky can look too smooth, smudged or gritty and does not look like a sky at all. The clouds were a challenge to design as they were too round and did not look realistic, so using the smudge tool, I smoothed out the edges of the cloud with black and white and blended them in the black and blue sky. After I used the effects on photoshop using paint dubs to create an uneven tone in the sky with the linear gradient of dark blue, light blue and black. I ground was the easiest part as I had just used a black and dark brown and smudged the areas to form an uneven effect in the ground.
